WE'VE RISEN TO THE CHALLENGE
We've been working hard, along with our fabulous suppliers and counterparts across the country.
Like our friends at farm shops across the UK, we've adapted quickly to keep our shelves full and customers fed during the Covid crisis. Our team - including Amy, Teyte, Emily and Anneli (pictured) - packied orders for ‘contactless collection’ and delivery, whilst our suppliers at Tetbury Wines kindly hit the lanes with their van.
During lockdown, The Farm Retail Association (FRA) estimates that farm shops processed an amazing 1.4 million-plus orders for home delivery or collection to support local communities. Rob Copley, Chairman of the FRA, says
“as well as going above and beyond in this time of crisis, farm retailers are helping to keep the nation fed. They are demonstrating that they are both caring neighbours and viable alternatives to the supermarkets, boasting shorter supply chains with lower carbon footprints."
We had a lovely write up in the Stroud News and Journal and in the Wilts & Glos Standard; you can read the full article below. Back in May, Jolly Nice customer Rafe Spall explained to millions of viewers of BBC 1's Saturday Kitchen that farm shops’ short supply chains meant that we could keep our shelves full even in the days of panic buying.
Thank you to everyone who has shopped with us over the past few years. Your custom keeps money in the local economy, supports small local farmers and artisan producers, keeps our team busy and makes sure the gates at Jolly Nice stay open.
