Introducing Conker, Medlar and Walnut

DECEMBER HAS ARRIVED AND WITH IT, SOME VERY SPECIAL GUESTS...
I hope you’re all having a wonderful start to the month, with festivities now well underway and the sparkle of excitement in children's eyes, it has to be our favourite time of the year at Jolly Nice.
If you've popped in this past week, you may have noticed our three handsome reindeer perusing the paddock by the farmshop. I’m delighted to say that they will be our residents every day until Christmas Eve!
Their names are Conker, Medlar and Walnut.
Having taken my own children to see the Cairngorm herd in Scotland some 25 years ago, I had always wondered what it might be like to look after these majestic animals, and then last year the opportunity came to acquire three young chaps, from a Christmas Tree Farm in South Wales of all places - I leapt at the opportunity.
I adore them and personally look after them every day of the year in the little woodland where I live and where they now live 11 months of the year. They wander the woodland, browse trees and nibble on the mosses, so I’m pleased that they are as close to their natural habitat as possible, living here in the Cotswolds.
Our local community of young families have always been in awe when reindeer have visited in years past, and so we wanted to create something even more special than before. Over the past few months, my incredible team have been hard at work helping me bring a little bit of Lapland to Jolly Nice for you all, complete with snowy trees, a new festive forest skate track next to the cafe and mountains of mince pies emerging from the kitchens thanks to our wonderful pastry chefs.
EVERYONE'S WELCOME TO MEET THE REINDEER
You can spot the reindeer from the path on your way into the farmshop, or if you would like to, you can reserve tickets to meet and feed them their favourite mosses through the gate. Later in December, Father Christmas will be joining us for some fireside stories in the Christmas Cabin, where you will also have exclusive access to meet and feed the reindeer, with the guidance of our Sámi reindeer herder.
We’re so excited to welcome you back this festive season, and I look forward to bringing Conker, Medlar and Walnut to Jolly Nice for many years to come.
